The Mustang is another story altogether, the body was left outside for
3 years in a yard on the coast, she virtually crumpled when you looked
at her. As she was being towed away we could see the top half of the
body sinking into the bottom half, literally. As the tow truck guy said,
the petrol in the tank was probably worth more than the car, BUT, the
interior is fantastic, all taken out and stored away by the previous
owner, the seats had recently been recovered and even had the little
metal tags on them, the trim, dash, lights, etc were all packed away,
and the bonnet had been stored inside. The engine had recently been overhauled and looks good, now we just need a donor body, and unfortunately, unlike in the USA, South Africa does not have junkyards full of mustang bodies looking for a home. So for the time being all parts are still stored away, waiting for the BIG day when I find something to attach them to. |
