| History | ||
|
Awhile ago I saw a picture of a black Torino Talledega on a website,
I really liked the look of it, specially the fastback lines, but the
chances of finding one here were pretty slim, so it remained a wishful
thought. Then about 6 or so months ago, on a trip up to Cape Town I was glancing thru' the For Sale ads and suddenly saw a 68 Torino for sale, body only. Went to have a look at her, she was in pretty bad shape, rust wise, but otherwise the lines all looked straight, the interior did not look too bad, rear windscreen was gone, but basically she looked fixable. To cut a long story short we bought her, auto-carriered her down to our town, got a tow truck [roll back] to bring her to the house and she has been parked outside since then, we are just waiting to find somewhere to put her so we can get busy on the restoration. AND, yeah I know she is not a Talledega, but she is probably the closest I am going to get to owning one, and it was really the lines of the Talledega I liked, and she has those lines. The above written around about 2004, its now 2007 and she is still waiting patiently for restoration........ one day. |
